  • Jennifer Dewees

    Jenn, a BMOD co-founder, is President of the Maryland Center for Construction Education & Innovation (MCCEI) and brings over 20 years of combined experience in construction management and workforce development. She has led major statewide initiatives to strengthen Maryland’s construction talent pipeline, with a focus on making careers in the built environment more accessible and aligned with employer needs. Jenn has strong relationships across the construction industry, education systems, and government agencies, allowing her to bring together key partners and translate workforce insights into practical strategies. Her particular focus is identifying workforce and construction industry needs, designing targeted workforce strategies, and contributing sector expertise to the development of potential business models. Jenn holds a BA in Communications from Loyola University Maryland and participated in the Construction Management program at the Community College of Baltimore County.

  • Christina D. Long, AIA

    Christina, a BMOD co-founder, is also the founder and principal of Vertical Architecture Enterprises (vAE), a full-service architecture practice in Baltimore. Christina leads BMOD design and engineering efforts for product platform development, rowhouse pilot projects, and investigations into establishing a microfactory. Christina brings to these efforts skills she has acquired over her 26+ year career working on large scale academic, research, and transportation projects in roles ranging from researcher, space programmer designer, project architect, and project manager. Overlaid on this project work are her published articles and conference presentations regarding lifelong learning communities and technology's impact on spaces for learning and knowledge creation. Christina holds a BA in Urban Studies from Hampshire College and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University.


  • Ethan Cohen, AICP

    Ethan brings nearly 30 years’ experience helping communities, governments, and non-profits create and implement strategies to achieve their economic and social development goals. He served as Senior Advisor for Community and Economic Development for the City of Baltimore from 2014-2024, where he established and managed the Casino Local Impact Fund program and led the City’s participation in Reimagine Middle Branch—an initiative that garnered the 2024 Planning Excellence Award from the American Planning Association. Ethan served as Chief Planner for Sullivan County, NY, and Director of the City College Architectural Center at The City College of New York/CUNY, after working in architecture practices in New York City. He holds Master of Architecture and BA degrees from Yale University and is pursuing a Certificate in Real Estate Development at UMD College Park.

  • Andrea A. Anderson, PhD

    Andrea A. Anderson, PhD, is an equity-focused evaluator, strategist, and nonprofit leader who brings 30 years of diverse experience to Baltimore Modular. A Baltimore native, she has partnered with national and local foundations and federal agencies to strengthen collaborative efforts in workforce development, community building, economic development, and youth development. She also held executive leadership roles in philanthropic and nonprofit organizations, where she advanced learning and strategy at the organizational and community levels. In her role as Program Manager for Baltimore Modular, Andrea applies her deep expertise in evaluating multi-sector, place-based initiatives that expand economic opportunity. Andrea holds a BS in Finance and an MS in Family & Community Development from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as a PhD in Evaluation & Planning from Cornell University.

  • Brent Sturlaugson, RA

    Brent is Assistant Professor of Architecture and Director of the Built Environment Applied Research Lab at Morgan State University’s School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P). Brent is a licensed architect in the State of Maryland and a certified drone pilot. His research has been published in the Journal of Architectural Education, Journal of Architectural Engineering, and Places Journal, among others. Sturlaugson focuses on processes for mass retrofitting with data collection through photogrammetry, laser scanning, GIS-based land use mapping, and in developing a property diagnostic system. Brent holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and a Master of Environmental Design from Yale University.

  • Kamalesh Panthi, PhD

    Kamalesh is an Associate Professor and the Graduate Program Director of Construction Management, and serves as Program Director for the PhD in Architecture, Urbanism, and Built Environments program at Morgan State University. His research expertise centers on construction risk and safety, and the assessment of residential buildings and their retrofit for cost and energy savings. Kamalesh’s recent project, “Using Building Information Modeling for Job Hazard Analysis of Renovating Residential Buildings,” was supported by the Center for Protecting Workers Rights, and his research has been widely published. Kamalesh is working to develop procedures for deconstruction and material reuse, retrofit planning and construction logistics. Kamalesh holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, Karnataka, India; a MS in Construction Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand; and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Florida International University.
