In development. BMOD is exploring how AI agents could support its other five activities, drawing on public data and our partners’ expertise. Today this is research and planning; we will share what we learn as pilots are tested.
Questions we are researching
Where in the life of a housing project (finding a site, checking zoning, lining up financing, getting permits, choosing a manufacturer) good information would save the most time.
Which public data such tools would need, such as parcel, finance, permitting and manufacturer data.
How people who know the subject would review answers before anyone relies on them.
How each organization could keep control of its own knowledge.
How we would approach a pilot
Anything we test would be labelled as AI, reviewed by people who know the subject, and never used to decide anyone’s eligibility for a program.
A public tool you can use today
For parcel, zoning and funding questions in Maryland, the State’s free Maryland Community Compass is a good place to start. BMOD did not build it and is not affiliated with it.
