Our promise in brief
We collect only what you choose to send us and what our website host records when you visit. We use it to reply to you, to send BMOD news if you ask for it, and to run this site. We never sell your information.
Who we are
Baltimore Modular, Inc. (“BMOD,” “we”) is a Maryland nonprofit corporation. This policy covers baltimoremodular.org. Contact: info@BaltimoreModular.org, or Baltimore Modular, Inc., PO Box 16219, Baltimore, MD 21210.
What we collect
When you use the Connect form: your name and email, your organization if you give it, the boxes you tick, your message, and whether you asked for BMOD news.
When you sign up for BMOD news: your email address, your name if you give it, and when you signed up and confirmed.
When you sign up for an event or a members-only page: what that form asks for, such as your name and email. A members-only page also keeps your login details.
When you email us: your email address and whatever you write.
When you visit: our website host, Squarespace, records basic visit information. This includes the pages you view, your browser and device type, the site that sent you, and your approximate location based on your internet address. Squarespace uses cookies to run the site and to count visits.
Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects device and usage information under Google’s privacy policy and terms.
Videos: workshop recordings are embedded from YouTube, which may set its own cookies when you play a video.
How we use it
To reply to you and route your message to the right BMOD director.
To send BMOD news, only if you asked for it.
To understand which activities people care about, so we can plan events and programs.
To keep the site secure and working.
To keep the records a nonprofit must keep.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.
Where it is kept
Squarespace, which hosts the site, its forms and our email newsletter.
A Google Sheet, which receives Connect form submissions. Only the BMOD directors who answer messages can open it.
Our email. Messages to BMOD addresses reach BMOD’s directors.
These services process information for us under their own terms and may store it in the United States.
What we never do
We never sell your information. We do not rent or trade it, and we do not give it to others for their marketing.
When we share it
With the services above, only so they can run the site, our forms and our email for us.
If the law requires it.
With your permission, for example if you ask us to introduce you to another organization.
How long we keep it
Connect messages: only as long as we need them to follow up with you and to keep the records a nonprofit must keep.
BMOD news: until you unsubscribe. We then stop emailing you right away.
Your choices
Unsubscribe: use the link at the bottom of any BMOD email, or write to info@BaltimoreModular.org.
See, correct or delete your information: email info@BaltimoreModular.org. We will reply within 30 days, and we may ask you to confirm who you are first.
Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may then not work.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards and limit who can see what you send us. No website or email is completely secure.
Other websites
Our pages link to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply there.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
