Welcome, Richard Manekin, to BMOD’s Board

Portrait of Richard Manekin, BMOD’s Treasurer

Please join us in welcoming Richard Manekin to BMOD’s Board of Directors as a founding member. He leads BMOD’s real estate development work.

BMOD would not exist without Richard. On January 22, 2024, over lunch at a Kneads Bakeshop & Café, he encouraged me to pursue the ideas that became BMOD. Then he passed my one-page summary to the Mayor’s Office, which resulted in a meeting in February with the Deputy Mayor, the Housing Commissioner and the Mayor’s Deputy Chief of Staff. The work that became BMOD started there.

Richard is a partner at Workshop Development, a commercial real estate investment and development firm in Baltimore. He began his career at Manekin LLC, his family’s company, where he helped grow the firm from 10 to 150 employees and became a managing partner. He later served as Senior Vice President at CB Richard Ellis, founded Corinthian Realty Partners to pursue value-added investments, and joined former CBRE colleagues to form Workshop Development.

A University of Maryland graduate, Richard has chaired a number of civic and charitable boards throughout his career. He is currently Chair of Jubilee Baltimore.

Richard brings a career in Baltimore commercial real estate to BMOD’s work on sites and development. He serves on the Board with fellow founding directors Christina D. Long, AIA, and Ethan Cohen, AICP.

Welcome, Richard.
