Please join us in welcoming Tyrell Dixon to BMOD’s Board of Directors. He leads the Board’s work on finance and investment.
Tyrell has worked on housing from both the side of capital and the side of communities. At MCB Real Estate he is Senior Director, Asset Management & Special Projects, responsible for investment analysis across a diversified portfolio of more than $1 billion. Earlier he was Vice President at 1Seed Partners (formerly Blue Owl Real Estate Seeding and Strategic Capital), an Investment Analyst at Patch Capital Partners, and a Development Manager at SAA|EVI, where he led the conversion of a historic Baltimore church into a 70,000-square-foot mixed-use complex with 37 apartments.
He is also Co-founder and Board Chair of Project Own, a nonprofit building innovative tools to promote Black wealth creation. Project Own was selected for the 2025 cohort of Terner Labs’ Housing Venture Lab, an accelerator for housing ventures, with Rooted, its platform that helps housing counselors get low- and middle-income families mortgage-ready. Tyrell is also a Trustee and member of the Investment Committee of the Middendorf Foundation. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a BA in History and Science.
BMOD’s work depends on making industrialized housing delivery pencil out for Baltimore families and for the people who finance it. Tyrell knows both sides of that equation, and the Board is stronger for it. He joins founding directors Christina D. Long, AIA, Ethan Cohen, AICP, and Richard Manekin.
Welcome, Tyrell.
